Plumber FAQ for Singapore — pricing, hours, licensing and what to send

AOT works from a $50 site survey. Common from-rates: tap and shower mixer replacement from $50 plus parts, choke clearing from $60, pipe and joint leak repair from $80, cistern and valve work from $60. Larger jobs — concealed pipe runs, fixture replacement, opening a wall — are quoted after the survey, and the price is confirmed before work starts.

The site survey from $50 is the attendance and assessment. After that, you get a scope and a price. We don't add hidden charges later, and we don't start work on a number you haven't agreed.

No. Our hours are Mon–Sat 08:00–17:00. We take same-day call-outs where possible, and after-hours attendance is subject to crew availability. We'd rather answer honestly than take a booking we can't keep.

For straightforward items — a dripping mixer, a running cistern, a choke, a tap swap — photos are usually enough for a from-price. Concealed pipework, opening a wall or replacing fixtures is confirmed on site before we start.

A photo of the affected part (tap underside, floor trap, or inside the cistern tank), a wide shot of the area or water meter if it's a leak, your block and postcode, and when someone will be home. That's usually enough for a likely cause, a from-price and a slot.

Grease cools inside the kitchen stack and narrows it, so it blocks again sooner each time. Clearing restores flow; if it returns quickly, the run itself usually needs attention rather than another clearing.

It's the most expensive quiet fault in a flat — the cistern refills continuously and you only find out at the water bill. Flush and inlet valves and seals are the usual causes, and it's normally a one-visit repair.

Check the water meter with everything switched off — if it still moves, something is running or leaking. Damp patches that grow, blistering paint or a warm patch on a floor are other signs. Concealed work is surveyed before anything is opened.
